RFID Journal article: Ambitious European Project Traces Food from Farm to Fork
The University of Wolverhampton staff members have teamed up with the free range pork products producer Buttercross Farm Foods and two retail stores - Green Fields Farm shop in Telford and Deli@ Bewdley.
Market Drayton Buttercross is a growing farm and producer of free range beef, pork and eggs. Currently supplying shops within the region, with the addition of traceability data about the products origin, conditioning and so on, the company is committed to add value to their products, which will provide an opportunity for the company to achieve further business expansion.
One of the popular pork products will be initially selected as a starting point for tracking and tracing, but plans are in place to extend the tracked product range and more suppliers will be added once the platform is set up.
