Vinitaly 2012

Verona, Italy 25-28 March 2012

Treviso Tecnologia is pleased to inform all stakeholders and partners that F2F project will attend the Vinitaly 2012, the world's most important exhibition of wine and spirits, that will take place in Verona from 25th to 28th March 2012.

Vinitaly is the main reference event in the wine sector: the 2011 edition welcomed more than 4 thousand exhibitors over a show area of 95 thousand square metres, with 156 thousand visitors (more than 50,000 international from more than 110 countries).

The wine company Vigne Mastrodomenico, a family-run business that joined F2F in 2010, will exhibit the new vintage Aglianico del Vulture DOC as part of the innovative traceability pilot deployed by the ElectroMagnetic Lab of Lecce from the University of Salento.

At their stand everyone will be able to trace a bottle of the new passito Shekàr from the latest harvest in Basilicata, a region in the south of Italy (read here the story of the grape harvest day in 2011). Scanning a QRcode on the bottle the wine taster can have a look at every aspect of the production, from the wineyards pedoclimatic information (collected through wireless sensor networks) to the fermentation and bottling stages (HERE an example of how the traceability page will look like).

Treviso Tecnologia will present the "RFID from Farm to Fork" project within the stand of the Agriculture Department of the Region of Basilicata (Hall 7b - Stands No. A8/B8/B9/C8/C9), in which the company Vigne Mastrodomenico is also exhibiting.

There will be shown a promotional video and explained the initiative during a mini workshop at 12 am on 26th March targeted to companies, consumers, wine technology specialists and policy makers.
